A Párniczky Quartet repertoárja összegzése a Nigun zenekar 22 éves munkájának, valamint a „Bartók electrified” című lemez alkotási folyamatának és az azt követő időszaknak. „A szuverén európai improvizatív zenei nyelv, amely integrálja a modern kamarajazz, a kortárs- és a népzene elemeit” – Gonda János szavai pontosan ráillenek az új album, a Mikrotheosz anyagára. A tagok – Bede Péter (tárogató, alt szaxofon) és Ajtai Péter (bőgő) – már több, mint 300 koncerten voltak a zenekarvezető társai, mind az európai-, mind a tengeren túli fellépésein. Hozzájuk csatlakozott Szabó-Sipos Ágoston dobos, aki a Zeneakadémián és a Academy of Music. K. Lipinski-n folytatott jazz tanulmányai előtt népi hegedűn játszott.

Párniczky András, a kvartett vezetője a Berklee College of Music-ba kapott ösztöndíjat 1999-ben, majd még ugyan ebben az évben elnyerte a Magyar Állami Eötvös Ösztöndíjat. 2000-ben a Zoller Attila Nemzetközi jazz verseny döntőse volt (Pat Metheny volt a zsűri díszelnöke). 2014-től kezdve az amerikai Collings Guitars and Mandolins hivatalos művésze. Számos hazai és külföldi tanulmányt követően doktori fokozatát a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem Doktori Iskolájában, summa cum laude minősítéssel szerezte 2022-ben. Disszertációjának, címe: „Csak tiszta forrásból.” Bartók Béla zenéjének tovább élése a jazzben, amely könyv formában is publikálásra kerül 2024 folyamán.

Az új lemez 2023 decemberében jelent meg a Fonó gondozásában, amelyenek anyagát szeretné a kvartett a minnél szélesebb hallgatósághoz eljuttatni külföldön is.

The repertoire of the Párniczky Quartet (premiered in January 2023 at the Hungarian House of Music) is a summary of the 22 years of work of the Nigun orchestra and the process of the creation of the album „Bartók electrified” (BMC, CD 260, 2018) and the period that followed. „A sovereign European improvisational musical language that integrates elements of modern chamber jazz, contemporary and folk music” – the words of János Gonda fit exactly the material of the new album Mikrotheos. The members – Péter Bede (tárogató, alto-saxophone) and Péter Ajtai (bass) – have been the bandleader’s partners in more than 300 concerts, both in Europe and overseas. They are joined by drummer Ágoston Szabó-Sipos, who studied at the Academy of Music and the Academy of Music. Before studying jazz at the Academy of Music and the Academy of Jazz Studies K. Lipinski, he played the folk violin.

András Párniczky, the leader of the quartet, was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 1999, and in the same year he was awarded the Hungarian State Eötvös Scholarship. In 2014, he was awarded 2nd place in the JazzMa critics’ poll in the jazz guitar category, and since that same year he has been an official artist of Collings Guitars and Mandolins in the US. After numerous studies at home and abroad, he received his doctorate at the Liszt Academy of Music, graduating summa cum laude in 2022. His dissertation, „Only from pure sources.” The music of Béla Bartók lives on in jazz, which will be published in book form in 2024.

The new album will be released in December 2023 by Fonó, and the quartet hopes to bring the material to as wide an audience as possible abroad.
