Trevor Watts has been on the scene since the early 1960s and has always been at the forefront of jazz and improvisational music. He has been a founding member of important bands such as the Spontaneous Music Ensemble, Amalgam, the London Jazz Composers Orchestra, the Splinters, and has performed at major festivals such as the San Francisco Jazz Fest, the Vancouver Jazz Fest, the Seattle Jazz Fest, the Berlin Jazz Fest, the London Jazz Fest, the Singapore Arts Fest, the Glastonbury Fest, and the Womad.
Watts has performed with Archie Shepp, Steve Lacy, Steve Swallow, Don Cherry, Dave Holland, Rashied Ali, among others.
Trevor has a long-standing improvisational duo with pianist Veryan Weston and another very different duo with percussionist Jamie Harris, based primarily on rhythmic and melodic ideas.
It is from these two unique and different duos that Watts’ latest project, ETERNAL TRIANGLE, has emerged. Each composition is different and they never fail to capture the audience’s attention whenever they perform.
