VARGA BENDEGÚZ QUARTET FEAT. KONCZ KRISZTA

Varga Bendegúz 2026 tavaszán megjelenő albuma egy koncepció lemez lett: A kilencvenes évek első felében virágzó Seattle-i grunge-rock mozgalom zenekarainak ikonikus, vagy talán kevésbé ismert, de általa igen szeretett dalait választotta ki, hogy azt a modern-mainstream  jazz formanyelve szerint dolgozzák fel.

Annak ellenére, hogy rock-feldolgozásokról és nem saját szerzeményekről van szó, sikerült igazán sajátjukká tenni az anyagot, a hangszereléseknek és improvizációknak köszönhetően. Újdonság, hogy az új lemezen nemcsak instrumentális, hanem énekes számok is szerepelnek. A férfi rock-énekesek által 

híressé vált dallamok interpretálására Bendegúz Koncz Krisztát, a 2024. évi Müpa Jazz Showcase közönségdíjas fellépőjét kérte fel. Kriszta mély tónusú, érzelmekkel telített hangjával a női princípium finoman megjelenik ebben a meglehetősen 

maszkulin zenei környezetben. Ezáltal a dalok egészen új értelmet nyernek.

BENDEGÚZ VARGA QUARTET FEAT. KONCZ KRISZTA

Bendegúz Varga’s album, to be released in the spring of 2026, is a concept record. It reimagines iconic, and in some cases lesser-known but personally significant songs from the Seattle grunge-rock movement that flourished in the early 1990s, reworked through the musical language of modern mainstream jazz. 

Although the material consists of rock covers rather than original compositions, the quartet has succeeded in making the repertoire distinctly their own through inventive arrangements and improvisation. A notable new element of the album is the inclusion of vocal tracks alongside instrumental pieces. To interpret melodies originally made famous by male rock singers, Bendegúz invited Kriszta Koncz, winner of the Audience Award at the 2024 Müpa Jazz Showcase. With her deep-toned, emotionally rich voice, the feminine principle subtly emerges within this decidedly masculine musical context, giving the songs an entirely new meaning.
