Kevés zenész van, aki úgy tudja újradefiniálni egy hangszer határait, mint Victor Wooten. Az ötszörös Grammy-díjas basszusgitáros, a Béla Fleck and the Flecktones alapító tagja és a Rolling Stone által minden idők egyik legnagyobb basszusgitárosaként jegyzett Wooten ezúttal testvéreivel, a The Wooten Brothers formációval érkezik Budapestre. 

A Wooten testvérek története több mint fél évszázados: már gyerekként együtt zenéltek, és egészen fiatalon színpadra léptek olyan legendás előadók előtt, mint Curtis Mayfield. Az azóta eltelt évtizedekben saját zenei nyelvet alakítottak ki, amelyben a funk, jazz, soul, R&B, rock, bluegrass és jazz fusion természetesen olvad egymásba.

A koncert középpontjában természetesen Victor lenyűgöző basszusjátéka áll: groove-ok, improvizációk, loopok és elképesztő technikai megoldások találkoznak a testvérek összetéveszthetetlen összjátékával. Regi Wooten gitáron, Joseph Wooten billentyűs hangszereken és énekkel, Roy „Futureman” Wooten pedig dobokon teszi teljessé a családi felállást.

Ami igazán különlegessé teszi a Wooten Brothers koncertjeit: ez nem pusztán egy virtuóz hangszeres bemutató. A testvérek zenéjében ott van a játékosság, a humor, a spontaneitás és az a természetes összhang, amely csak évtizedek közös zenéléséből születhet. A 2024-es budapesti fellépésükön közel kétezres, telt házas közönség előtt adtak emlékezetes, közel kétórás show-t – a koncert egyszerre kínált zenei csemegét a hangszeres zene rajongóinak és önfeledt élményt minden koncertlátogatónak.

Few musicians have pushed the boundaries of their instrument quite like Victor Wooten. A five-time Grammy Award winner, founding member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and one of the most acclaimed bass players of all time, Wooten is returning to Budapest with his brothers as part of The Wooten Brothers.

The Wooten brothers’ musical journey spans more than half a century. They started playing together as children and took the stage at an astonishingly young age, performing alongside legendary artists such as Curtis Mayfield. Over the decades, they have developed a unique musical language in which funk, jazz, soul, R&B, rock, bluegrass and jazz fusion come together effortlessly.

At the heart of the show is, of course, Victor Wooten’s extraordinary bass playing: infectious grooves, improvisation, looping and breathtaking technical mastery meet the unmistakable chemistry of his brothers. Regi Wooten on guitar, Joseph Wooten on keyboards and vocals, and Roy “Futureman” Wooten on drums complete the family lineup.

What makes a Wooten Brothers concert truly special is that it is much more than a display of instrumental virtuosity. Their music is full of playfulness, humor, spontaneity and the natural chemistry that can only come from decades of making music together. When they performed in Budapest in 2024, they played to a sold-out crowd of nearly two thousand people in a memorable, almost two-hour show—an experience that delighted both devoted instrumental music fans and anyone looking for an unforgettable night of live music.
